Caring for you in your place of residence We offer a range of specialist support across the communities we serve to enable patients and their families to be cared for in their place of residence, including providing advice and support to staff in care homes. CounsellingOur Counselling team offers support to anyone living with a life limiting illness, from diagnosis through to end of life or into survivorship, and those who have experienced a bereavement. Support is available for adults and for children and young people. Lymphoedema Support Our Lymphoedema Specialists can provide clinical care, expert support and practical help to those living with primary and secondary Lymphoedema and lipoedema. Our In-Patient UnitsWe have purpose built in-patient units at both our Basildon and Thurrock Hospices, providing specialist palliative and multi-disciplinary holistic care from teams of clinical and medical specialists who work closely with other healthcare professionals. Care offered for people with life limiting illnesses includes end of life care and support, planned respite, complex discharge planning, pain management and symptom management. Outpatients SupportOffering convenient and accessible specialist key clinical procedures (such as infusions, intravenous fluids, etc.) and palliative care in a relaxed environment to meet our patient’s wellbeing and lifestyle needs. Specialist PhysiotherapyPhysiotherapy support is available to people living with life limiting illnesses to help them to cope with symptoms and be as independent and mobile as possible. Support is also available for carers and families to help them in their caring role. WellbeingOur person-led supportive care services offer access to a range of holistic care, supporting patients in designing their own unique and flexible care programme, that aim to address their needs and enhance their psychological, emotional and social wellbeing. Wellbeing support is also provided to patients families and their carers. Care services offered can include complementary therapies; wig bank; therapeutic interventions; creative therapies and group sessions which are tailored for patients and their carers.
